As a young girl, I enjoyed baking with my Grandmom, Mom, sisters & Aunts. I grew up in Philadelphia, PA. with my parents & two sisters. Occasionally cooked and baked as a teenager however, self taught after my son was born. I began baking holiday desserts, an Easter cake with bunny ears, birthday cakes and a pistachio bread. As kids, my son and his friends referred to the pistachio bread as boogie bread due to the color. One of my all time favorite bakers is Julia Childs. I was inspired watching Julia cook and bake.
Baking brings smiles! From family, colleagues and neighbors ~ baking makes me happy and sharing sweet treats makes others happy. It's a win-win!
Practice, practice, practice! My first cheesecake attempt was stressful, it was cracked and not very creamy. Burnt a NY strip, my first spinach manicotti dish wasn't very tasty but my family were troopers for eating it.
